Mr. Rafuse’s duties included:• Provided system and hardware engineering support services for all phases of constructive simulation federation(s).• Configure and manage Army Mission Command Systems (ABCS) to include ADSI, AFATDS, AMDWS, FBCB2, MCS, TAIS, GCCS-A, MCS, C2PC, CPOF, CIDNE, and TIGR.• Tested all beta and new simulation software, integration software or tools, and simulation federation.• Integrated simulation data to stimulate C4ISR/ABCS/C2 systems in order to provide the common operation picture (COP) for simulation exercises that operate on DIS or HLA protocols.• Provided technical integration solutions and recommendations for exercises to also include networks and computer systems layout and setups for simulations and ABCS.• Installed, configured and deployed the Army Battle Command Common Services (BCCS) suite of systems and application environment in support of planned training support activities. Mr. Rafuse supported the Battle Command Training Branch (BCTB), Battle Simulation Center (BSC), US Army III Corps, Fort Hood, Texas and the Joint Training Integration Facility (JTIF), providing networking, hardware and software technical support for new and emerging battle command training simulations and associated systems, along with training exercise support as needed. Mr. Rafuse has previously supported the US Army Topographical Engineering Center (USATEC), Software Evaluation, Engineering and Development Site (SEEDS) laboratory, and the US Joint Forces Command J9 Experimentation and Engineering Directorate (JFCOM/J9 EED) with hardware and software technical support for Joint Semi-Automated Forces (JSAF) software simulation operations and Synthetic Natural Environment (SNE) terrain and 3D visualization systems. Mr. Rafuse was the Team Leader for the Future After Action Review (FAARS) software development team and for the Logistics Process Improvement Demonstration System development team. Mr. Rafuse's duties included:• Team leader for a group of two (2) software engineers developing and demonstrating an experimental inventory control system used for small arms munitions management primarily for the US Navy. The system was designed around using commercially available Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags, Intermec CK31G Barcode Scanner/Windows CE devices, and MySQL v5.1.x RDBMS.• Team leader for a group of three (3) software engineers developing a simulation federation data analyses toolset utilizing a combination of COTS, GOTS and custom written applications. The core of the application consists of the GOTS package jLogger v2.x for HLA and DIS simulation data collection and storage utilizing an industry standard relational database. Analyses tools were created utilizing a combination of Apache web server, PHP/JavaScript scripting and MySQL relational database management system for data storage, manipulation and visualization.

Mr. Rafuse supported the U.S. Army Command Control Support Agency (CCSA), Department of the Army Operations Center, providing hardware and software technical support and detailed documentation development in support to end-user operations. Mr. Rafuse’s duties included:• Providing end-user hardware and software diagnostic support on a variety of equipment, to include microcomputer workstations (Intel-based and Sun SPARC), scanners, peripherals, laser and ink jet printers.• Providing end-user hardware and software one-on-one training support on current DoD software solutions, to include Army Mail Handling System (AMHS) and Global Command and Control System (GCCS 3.0).• Designed, planned and maintained the User Support Center web-based data repository, a data store for technicians to store commonly needed information for direct desk side support activities.• Upgraded, updated, and configured CCSA-provided laptop computers and desktop workstation systems for Y2K-compliance standards. • Coordination, installation and configuration management of new hardware and software into the current LAN architecture.
