A summary of myself begins at Clemson University where I earned by B.S. degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in structures. After graduation I joined the SCDOT where I spent time as a bridge inspector helping to support decision-makers charged with maintaining the state's aging infrastructure. I helped to document the degradation of roughly 1000 bridge structures throughout 8 counties in upstate SC with visual and physical inspection. Afterwards I chose to re-enroll at Clemson University where I spent four semesters as a graduate assistant under Dr. Atamturktur (currently at Penn St.), two of which were spent as a fully-funded GAANN Fellow. After securing my M.S. degree in structural engineering during which I served as a teaching assistant for 2 separate courses, I spent time publishing research on the application of Info-Gap decision theory to numerical model selection which was aimed at supporting decisions under severe uncertainty. Since graduate school, I have worked as a practicing structural engineer spending approximately 5 years with two top-ranked private firms: CB&I and Jacobs. This experience has sharpened my design skills and given me invaluable exposure to both large and small engineering projects. During this period, I've spent much time on site interfacing with clients as a representative of my employers. Additionally, I've also worked in an office environment developing models, performing routine FEL/RFI work and assembling typical structural engineering calculation packages based on applicable codes like ASCE 7, ACI 318 and AISC 360 (among many others). Throughout my career I’ve continued to grow my responsibilities and adapted to the challenges of each new environment. I’ve now worked in multiple roles supporting the government and military as well as in the private-sector. I've written code and published academic papers. I've performed on-site inspection work and delivered detailed reports to my clients. I've developed sophisticated numerical models and assembled numerous structural calculation packages. And in nearly every role I've worked to mentor junior level employees and pass on what I've learned to increase their abilities and efficiency.
Listed skills include Microsoft Office, Autocad, Concrete, Civil Engineering, and 23 others.
