Team Leader of a four member engineering design team responsible for Clutch System components. Charged with using the Six Sigma methodology to define the current state of design evolution, developing the 10 Year Multi-Generational Product Plan, collaboratively working with the suppliers to identify and implement cost reductions, and defining the Strategic Supply Base using the Six Sigma Strategic Sourcing Process.

Both commercial and technical responsibility for two different categories of product while in Global Purchasing: Sensor Product (November 2007 – May 2010) and Electro-Hydraulic Valve Product (August 2005 – October 2007). Historically, each product category had two supporting positions, one commercial and one technical. However, because of my technical background they were combined into single points of responsibility.Led numerous cost reduction efforts throughout these nearly 5 years. Single point of contact for over 25 design engineers working on the new product launch initiatives. Champion of all purchasing responsibilities for the 45 active development projects I was involved in during one two year period, including strategic pricing and contract negotiations, relationship management and collaboration initiatives, and supplier development. Leader of commercial discussions, supplier development, and program management for new product introduced in 2007. Negotiated multiple commercial and development agreements. Responsible for key deliverables of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process. Reduced PPM defect level to half of target with key suppliers.
