The purpose of this position is to manage a fleet of drivers and ensure they fulfill the goal of efficiently and safely delivering freight. Tasks include arranging plans and dispatching loads using computer hardware, software, and applications, actively communicating with drivers, managers, and company personnel, enforcing company standards and expectations, reviewing drive-cam videos, coaching drivers, scheduling physicals and drug-tests, finding resolutions to conflicts and issues, and facilitating the overall balance between the interests of Drivers, Middle-Management, Upper-Management, Safety Department, Customer Service Department, and Human Resources Department.

When working this position, the main goal was to deliver freight to customers around the country as scheduled by the company. It required a Class A Commercial's Driver's license to be eligible to operate the motor vehicle required to haul the freight. Tasks included completing regular inspections on company equipment, mapping out practical routes and fuel stops, complying with local, state, and federal safety regulations, utilizing techology installed inside and outside of the tractor, staying up-to-date on safety, company, and industry-related standards, communicating with my Fleet Leader, and making on-time deliveries.

My duties as Delivery Expert included: delivering food to customers in the ~7-mile delivery area of the store, taking phone calls, assembling food items, handling cash and credit transactions, washing and putting away dishes, packaging food items, and organizing products. During my stints as Shift Leader (would switch between Delivery Expert and Shift Leader based on store needs), my duties included: managing staff, dealing with customer and technical issues, completing inventory and prep-work, along with all the tasks associated with Delivery Expert as necessary, with exception to delivering food to customers.
