I am an Accountant III with the Children and Families Commission of San Bernardino County, referred to as First 5 San Bernardino. I believe the experiences I have gained here and in prior employment make me an ideal candidate for many accounting positions. In my current position, I am responsible for assisting and training staff in performance of their regular duties. I am responsible for ensuring our accounting practices comply with county requirements, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and other state, federal and contractual requirements. I am also responsible for preparation of reports submitted to state and federal funding sources.Preceding my current position, I obtained a Master of Science in Accounting from California State University and was a member of two honors societies. After which I gained accounting, auditing and taxation experience at a mid-size CPA firm. These experiences along with studying allowed me to acquire my CPA license.Throughout this, I have learned the value and importance of responsibility, leadership and mentoring. At the same time, I have found guidance and instruction from others as a coworker, team member and mentee is always important.
