At XG Communities (formerly 5 Bars), I consulted with our partner cities to prepare for small cell densification and 5G technology. My primary responsibilities was to work with City staff and carrier contacts to develop small cell deployment requirements, application processing, and permitting standards for cities and municipalities across the United States. I proudly co-authored and edited wireless ordinances, modernizing cities’ rules to create predictable design standards and administrative review processes for small cell deployments. In this capacity, I interfaced on behalf of cities directly with small cell deployment teams for Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile to diagnose issues and bring solutions to city staff.

At this collaboration-minded company, I worked alongside industry professionals to solve emerging problems in deploying telecommunications infrastructure in both rural and urban environments across the United States. Here, I succeeded by anticipating issues, and providing support to team members so we could achieve excellence together.

As a law clerk at Rippetoe Law, P.C., I learned to navigate the complexities of civil discovery to best achieve the client’s goals through creative problem solving. I worked alongside attorneys specializing in business, construction, and public entity defense. I prepared pleadings, discovery motions, and letters to clients and opposing counsel.

As a law clerk in the Homicide Unit, I was responsible for preparing briefs for preliminary hearings and trials of several murder prosecutions. I drafted several comprehensive memoranda on complex constitutional and evidentiary issues.

I conducted legal research and writing on an array of issues for Chambers of Honorable Kathleen O'Leary. My responsibilities included contributing to written opinions as well as revising, editing, and cite-checking drafts of opinions prior to filing. I attended weekly writ conferences with the justices, and watched oral arguments in the courtroom each month.

I primarily performed legal research and writing on issues arising from the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). I met with clients and assisted attorneys during clients' Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings. I also attended proceedings in federal court with supervising attorneys.

As a judicial intern (undergraduate) to Judge Clifford R. Anderson, III, I was introduced to courtroom proceedings, preliminary hearings, and judicial decision making. I spent several hours observing different criminal and civil courtrooms, and would discuss issues of policy and law with Judge Anderson.

As a Community Service Officer (CSO) I acted as liaison between UCSB students and the Police Department. Some of my primary responsibilities included reporting crimes in progress, assisting in emergency situations, and detecting safety hazards. I also provided personal safety escorts on campus and in the Isla Vista community. As a lead officer, I oversaw and managed teams of CSOs during nighttime patrols and large-scale activities on campus such as concerts and sporting events.
