I'm currently the Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer at Venerable Holdings, Inc. I'm responsible for overseeing and managing the reporting and accounting operations for the entire company. I spend a substantial amount of time partnering with and informing the Board and other regulatory institutions. I played a key startup role in 2018 when Voya divested substantially all of its variable, fixed and fixed indexed annuities business through a transaction that created, Venerable, a new company. Since the formation of Venerable in 2018, I have been a key contributor of the four successful transactional deals that the company has closed on to date. I have also proven to be a forward thinker, by implementing processes and controls while the company grows, to ensure long term sustainability and full engagement by the team. I have worked in the Insurance and Financial Services industry for over 25 years beginning my career at AIG Life Companies before joining the staff at ING in 2002. While working at ING, I was a key contributor in many financial initiatives, including the IPO to Voya Financials. At that time, I became a Director at Voya, where I oversaw and managed the reporting and accounting operations for the Variable Annuities, Fixed Annuities, Life Insurance, and Employee Benefit products. Managing multiple business lines, gave me the opportunity to strengthen my ability to manage competing priorities and articulate messages effectively to multiple audiences. In this role, I created and presented precise and thoughtful earnings presentations to Senior Management on a quarterly basis.Aside from career achievements and accomplishments, one of the most exciting and powerful things I can note, in my career and community is to pay it forward. I am committed to giving in the same spirit I was helped along the way by connecting, sharing, and preparing others for this journey called life. I'm active within the company’s Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) group and is a mentor to several employees. I am also a life-time member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., a public service fraternity where I currently serves as the Finance Chair for his chapter. These involvements both in and out of work have afforded me opportunities to impact and make a difference.I earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Delaware. After receiving my BS, I pursued a Professional Basketball career in France before transitioning and moving forward with a career in accounting.
