Working as an apprentice with Fire and Life Safety I was responsible for preparing material, cutting sprinkler pipe to the correct measurements, and help foreman hang pipe. Some travel was required if we worked out of town. Most jobs included working around other trades such as electricians and HVAC. Foreman helped train me on reading blueprints to help understand where installs would take place, to help stay ahead of estimated time the total job would be, finishing a month ahead on occasions.

Builds quality made tires for cars, trucks, and SUV’s. Yokohama has departments known as Divisions and Division 600 was the final stage for tires before being shipped. In Division 600 there were four to six team members responsible for two lines and there were a total of eight lines. Working lines C and D we only had four team members; two who would receive tires from the C and D line presses which entered a machine that trims the excess rubber off of the tire before exiting to the trimmer operators who would then do a more detailed job of trimming the excess rubber off with handheld trimming tools while the tire would spin with another machine that was started manually by operator, the operator would then send the tire down another conveyor belt which delivered tire to the other team members who would do a final inspection of the tire and make sure there were zero defects before approving tire for shipping.

At age 15 on a workers permit I started working in the grill area. Responsible for cooking food, making the orders correct, cleaning area hourly, keeping up with shelf-life times for old inventory/food. Asked to learn how to run cash register in order to interact with customers, learning quickly by watching other cashiers while I worked in grill area. Responsible for keeping work area/customers viewing area clean, making sure orders were correct when I received them, also keeping correct cash management/handling of cash register. As a crew trainer I was responsible for training new members of the team, learned leadership skills, helped managers keep other employees on task throughout the shift. I also helped give promotional ideas for holidays to help with advertising.
