I have been teaching science since 1997 at the high school and intermediate levels. I have worked in private schools such as the Crefeld School in Philadelphia, and the Neskowin Valley School in Oregon. I have also taught in public schools in New Hampshire in the towns of Newport, and Hanover. Most of my teaching subjects are Earth and physical science based. I have participated in the National Science Foundation's GK-12 program for 2 years, sadly the program is no longer funded. I have learned how to make partnerships with local colleges and professional scientists and to get them into my classroom. I am a huge proponent of Place Based Learning. I have just directed and produced my first documentary, "The Last Ice: Glacial Lake Hitchcock". The film shows how the last Ice Age affected the Connecticut River Valley, where I live.
