I began my career in the Military and law enforcement in 1988 as a Military Policeman with the U.S. Marine Corps, where I served two tours overseas. In 1993, I transitioned to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves and entered civilian life, working in the service industry for companies such as the Ritz Carlton and Orient Express Hotel. In 1997, I reenlisted in the Army South Carolina National Guard's Armor Mechanized Division while continuing to work in the service industry. On September 9, 2001, I was employed as a bartender at the Ritz Carlton in Pentagon City during the terrorist attack on the Pentagon. I decided to reenlist once again and was accepted into the 113th District of Columbia Air National Guard (DCANG) Security Forces Squadron (SFS). I was quickly activated and deployed overseas in March 2002.Throughout my time with the DCANG SFS, I served as a Patrol Supervisor, Accident Investigator, and with the Counter Drug Program. In 2006, I was hired by the Department of Homeland Security's Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) as a Federal Law Enforcement Agent while continuing to serve in traditional National Guard status. My career with DHS/ICE has progressed from Immigration Enforcement Agent to Supervisory Immigration Enforcement Agent, Deportation Officer, and Detention and Deportation Officer. I spent 10 years in the ICE Baltimore Field Office, with my last position being in Fugitive Operations.From August 2016 to 2020, I served at ICE headquarters in the Removal and International Operations unit as an Embassy Liaison Officer for ICE Removal Operations in the Western Hemisphere. Currently, I am stationed at the U.S. Embassy in Kingston, Jamaica as the ICE ERO Country Attaché, overseeing ERO operations in nine nations within the Eastern Caribbean. I retired from the 113th DCANG SFS in May 2017 as a Master Sergeant, having completed three tours in the Middle East with the U.S. Air Force. During my time with the DCANG SFS, I held various leadership and program manager positions within the 113th.
