About Gregory Viscusi

After a 30-year career as a reporter for American media in Europe, I am now an editor on the English desk of Agence France-Presse, one of the world's leading news agencies. I edit and translate copy from around the globe, and keep our main stories updated. Before joining AFP, I was a writer and editor at the International Energy Agency in Paris, drafting press releases and articles, and editing commentaries and executive summaries. Previously, I was a freelance writer, editor, commentator, moderator and media trainer working for clients in the corporate and think tank world. From 1992 to late 2019, I was a reporter at Bloomberg News. During my final years at Bloomberg, I mostly covered French and Italian politics, but over my career I've covered a full range of European economic, business, financial and political news, and have also been involved in covering wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, the Arab Spring in North Africa, Somali piracy, two Olympics, two World Cups, and G20/G7 summits. I've written reviews of books, restaurants, and museum shows. I've reported from at least 40 countries. I've frequently commented on world events on Bloomberg Television, France24, and French all-news stations LCI and BFM.
