Assistant Vice President Of Student Entertainment

Orono, Maine

Planned, promoted, and coordinated activities and events on campus in an attempt to maximize the overall student experience at the University of Maine. These events included a comedy show featuring Gary Gulman and Alex Moffat from Saturday Night Live, and a spring concert called "The Maine Event". For the concert, my partner and I co-designed and co-constructed “The Maine Event”, an on-campus spring concert featuring Skizzy Mars, Chelsea Cutler, and Snakehips. The sold-out show stayed under the budget of $200,000 with zero ticket revenue as roughly 4,000 undergraduate students attended free of charge. One major facet of making this event come to fruition was collaborating with CCA to negotiate contracts with individual artists and a third party production team. Additionally, I was responsible alongside my partner to co-lead weekly meetings with directors from seven different on-campus departments to design the concert layout and itinerary, construct a marketing campaign, plan ticket scheduling, and ensure student safety. We considered this concert to be greatly successful considering the original headlining artist, T-Pain, cancelled on the show four days prior to the event. My partner and I showed the ability to be adapt to the situation presented; we were able to contract a new headlining artist just a day later, while remaining under budget and keeping the schedule of the original show unchanged in order to maximize the student experience.
