Project ManagerCtb Contracting Mar 2011 - Dec 2011Era / Rio Tinto Uranium MineIn this project I worked directly under the company owner and director for CTB Contracting. I managed a team of 3 site supervisors and 3 administration staff on this project. In 2 months we increased the company from 40 people working 5 days a week to 140 people working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at a remote location in Australia. The Contract was for the Phase 2 wall lift of the Tailings Storage Facility which involved increasing the wall height from 53m to 59m high and moving 900,000 cubic meters of rock. The Project consisted of both Lump Sum and Schedule of Rates Payments finalizing just over 13 million dollars. The project had a tight deadline, and was also accomplished at one of the highest regulated mines in the world. This project involved for myself;• Management of large numbers of people and heavy machinery.• Load Tracking of over 900 dump truck loads daily.• Management of 10 Excavators from 120t-30t, consisting of moving bulk rock with Komatsu PC 1250 and 850’s, a Hitachi 600 and a Liebher 974. Also final trim batter pulling with 30t excavators ranging in brands from Caterpillar to JCB.• Management of 25 articulated 40t Moxy Dump Trucks. Included were Caterpillar, Bell, Hitachi and Terex. These were leased from 4 different companies so constant communication and coordination with the Lessor’s was involved for major repairs, breakdowns, and transporting to and from site.• Other heavy machinery that was involved on site were 3 Hino Service Trucks, 3 Graders (12-16H), 3 Water Carts, 2 Loaders, 5 Dozers (D7-D10) and 3 rollers (smooth and flat drum)• Tendering and estimating.• Machine rental inventory and contracts, finance management.• Involved in company management, contract proposals, budgeting.• Contract close out, financial budgeting.• Long term planning, company day to day operations, scheduling.• Contracting litigation and legal proceedings and cases.• Company development, hiring and organization of labor resources.
