Mechanical product design

Worked on the design of commercial mower deck assemblies. My work focused on new product and current product improvements with the goal of having functional drawings and in spec parts that would always fit in the assemblies.

· Created and updated Mechanical Design FMEA· Designed/improved CPV valves and Fuel Pump AssemblyModules.· Created and updated drawings· Ran sound measurements and recommend design improvements· Ran flow analysis of prototype parts prior to shipping part to customers· Assembled Electrical test boxes· PCB Layout given basic schematics for electrical test boxes.

Instrument Cluster Design-Wrote engineering change orders to release new instrument clusters or to modify/design of parts (i.e. pointer assemblies, reset knobs, mask, lens...), and to change bills of material, software, or specifications. Supervised and verified the changes to the production lines. -Performed tolerance stack up studies for new assembly design and for approval to use nonconforming parts. -Conducted light measurements for making Light Masters and compare proposed changes to current specifications and products.-Performed Screw Torque test and analysis. Make sure design and temporary substitutions have a large enough target between seating and strip out torque for the production screw drivers.- Performed Circuit Board stress analysis to look for issues on the production line and in the assembly process that might lead to cracking of surface mounted ceramic parts.-Created and updated Mechanical FMEA-Created Quality Improvement Action Plan reports for JR, KJ, LH, PL, and RS clusters. This included writing and editing specifications for equipment, contacting and selecting vendors along with writing purchase orders for equipment.-Prepared requests for capital expenditure and took over requests that were already in the approval process.
