About Gregory Hill

Gregory Hill is a Executive Director at The Empty Stocking Fund, Inc.. He possess expertise in leadership, youth development, emergency, public speaking, refugees and 48 more skills. Colleagues describe him as "I feel so fortunate to have worked with Greg Hill when he was Executive Director of Aurora Day Camp. I joined the Board in 2020, and less than a year in, Greg asked me to become Board Chair, which I did for two very rewarding years (2021-2023). Though I've rolled off the board, I'm still on the Gala Committee and will always stay involved with Aurora. Greg is an outstanding nonprofit leader. He cares deeply about the causes he's involved in, and works tirelessly for the mission, often sacrificing his own work/life balance. He's a visionary leader as well as an effective manager (you don't often get that in one person!). He inspires his team, the Board, and the community around him to do their best for the cause. His calm demeanor inspires confidence and fosters a "no drama" culture. If you asked me what I would change about Greg's leadership abilities, I would say "Nothing." I also wanted to mention how rewarding it was to work side-by-side with Greg as the Executive Director and Board Chair "twin engines" of the Aurora Day Camp jet. He was a true partner, who helped guide, shape, and educate this very green Chair in the most supportive and positive way. I have grown and learned tremendously and have Greg to thank for much of my own development.", "Greg was an outstanding mentor/supervisor to me during his time leading Save the Children’s Refugee & Migration Unit in the Department of Humanitarian Response. He has excellent listening and people management skills, which, coupled with his expertise in emergencies and humanitarian programming, made our team’s goals achievable while also helping to build my career. Greg is highly adept at navigating challenges and solving complex issues collaboratively, all while maintaining a customer service-oriented approach towards everyone he works with. He is always inclusive of staff at different levels, respectful of people’s differences (whether in work style or across the multiple cultures and backgrounds of the people we worked with) and brings strong emotional intelligence to the often sensitive conflicts and crises that we supported. Greg’s leadership, calm and sensible approach to tasks, and clarity in his expectations of his team made coming to work every day something to look forward to, even when the pressure was high. I look forward to following Greg's path and know he will be successful in any organization he chooses to align himself with.", and "Greg was a key member of Save the Children Disaster and Humanitarian Response (DHR) team. He combined excellent technical knowledge of the subject matter (emergency relief operations, humanitarian program management, fundraising and donor relations) with a great can-do attitude and team player disposition. He consistently demonstrated strong leadership by always keeping the core values of the organization and the wider humanitarian community front and center in his decision-making and approach with others. His experience in the fast-paced, high-pressure environment of the DHR team will have prepared him well for any type of leadership role that combines significant responsibilities and high expectations."

Listed skills include Leadership, Youth Development, Emergency, Public Speaking, and 49 others.
