I’m a Civil Engineer with experience in many areas: Dark Fiber and Telecommunications, Land Development, Site/ Civil Engineering. Our team is together for two reasons: continue telecommunications engineering for our clients and to be a part of a start-up dark fiber company, USA Fiber. By working for clients like Verizon, Comcast, One Maryland Broadband (ICBN), Harford County (HMAN), FiberLight, Zayo, Crown Castle, etc. I gained the experience needed in Project Management, Civil Engineering, and Permitting. I brought this experience to USA Engineering / USA Fiber to plan, engineer, permit, and project manage the Ashburn Express Route and Potomac River Crossing. Seeing a large need for diversity (bypassing Washington D.C.), ultra low-latency, high capacity, and new fiber we wanted to connect data centers in the Baltimore-Washington (BAWA) areas (and points north) with Ashburn, Virginia and the rich data center environment there. We started with engineering, permitting, and building our Potomac River Crossing in under a year. When the route is completed, linking Baltimore and Ashburn, we will invigorate colocation, cloud services, big data services regionally and worldwide.
