Gregory is the Partnership Development Specialist for the DFID supported FoodTrade Eastern and Southern Africa (ESA) Programme, and he is responsible for identifying, mapping out and developing partnerships between the various stakeholders on the ground working to strengthen agriculture value chains in Eastern and Southern Africa. This work also involves spearheading the coordination and implementation of the Southern Africa Grain Network (SAGNET) as Regional Coordinator.

• Carried out and coordinated rapid market assessments / value chain analysis, identified and structured enterprise development opportunities for players in the following PROFIT plus focused value chains (maize, soybean, groundnut, sunflower, onion, and tomato)• Completed value chain analysis and developed commercialization approaches for six high value crops (maize, soybean, groundnut, sunflower, onion, and tomato) • Built capacity of producer marketing groups and MSE associations to facilitate markets access, market information, business services and private sector linkages • Successfully drafted an assessment report of Trade Performance of Key Agricultural Value Chains in Zambia from 2013 to 2015 with key recommendations for value chain actors, possible changes in trade policy and production of the six PROFIT+ focus crops; the report has been presented at a number of regional workshop in East and Southern Africa.
