Director, Farm Operations
CurrentResponsible for onsite operations for a working 1.5-acre farm, garden and its associated facilities including a commercial greenhouse.Manage employees and farm-related contract services.Established a social enterprise sales program while overseeing fulfillment of all sales orders.Maintain records of sales, process payments, and adhere to tax regulations.Create, implement, and maintain a farm plan to include: growing activity (crops, orchard, garden & greenhouse), ongoing farm operations & maintenance, site improvements, and other farm-related activities.Serve as the onsite point of contact for all visitors, partners, volunteers.Provide program and event support as needed, including attending sponsored events and fundraising events at the farm.Oversee all onsite aspects of Community Volunteer events, including planning activities,staff scheduling, and logistics, as needed.Handle expense management of the Farm Operations budget.Liaise with The Salvation Army’s Kitchen & Operations staff to ensure maximum usageof produce, determine crops and production needs, and educate kitchen staff on produce options.Develop and implement a Farm Safety manual and program.
