Head Of It / Information Technology Director
Ryan was brought in to help the organization solve a core business issue through the use of innovative technologies and business process solutions. The Society doubles in size during the 3-month period surrounding the film festival season, which encompassed various off-site events. The business required the flexibility of "anytime, anywhere" technology services. So Ryan prepared and guided them in the transition to the cloud. This included a complete re-engineering of the technology architecture as well as the IT business processes. To gain the flexibility required, Ryan migrated the business from a purely Apple infrastructure with Open Directory to a hybrid Mac/Windows environment with Active Directory. He also mapped all the business processes to Microsoft SharePoint Server. To fulfill the growing data need, he evaluated, selected, and deployed Business Intelligence (BI) tools, analytics, and a reporting engine. In addition, Ryan structured the solution in a manner that automated multiple processes, enabling the Society to combine multiple personnel into a single Data Manager role.Ryan helped the business achieve tremendous growth without the addition of new employees. He directed the development and launch of an online portal that offered event registration, online donations, benefits administration, and history of activity for Society members. Ryan collaborated with the internal team to create an innovative workflow that helped donors, members, and new visitors to flow logically through the site. He developed a complete customer experience management strategy that used reporting and analytics to drive offers to members based on their profile history and preferences.Ryan also helped to strengthen IT security by implementing a Single Sign-On (SSO) solution. He recently led the migration from Exchange to Office 365.
