“I only do awesome.” I know that sounds obnoxious, but hear me out. Just like all of us, my daughters will sometimes let doubt, fear or apathy get in the way of trying new things. “I only do awesome” has always been my way of building trust, letting them know that if I’m willing to spend my time doing something, it’s going to be fun. How does this mantra translate to business? People’s expectations, access to information, and options are at an all-time high. This is reducing their willingness to give their attention, money, or endorsement to things that are not awesome. They are now in control of defining your brand—and they are doing it based on the value you deliver.I believe we can find the awesome in almost anything if we are willing to roll up our sleeves, dig in, and ask the right questions. When I was a kid, my dyslexia was considered a weakness I needed to overcome. But now I see it as my superpower.
