Mr. Hancock was a member of the core team that pivoted Qpass from digital publishing to mobile commerce, contributing materially to five years of rapid growth that culminated in its $275 million acquisition by Amdocs. He rearchitected Mattel's e-commerce system, improved Visa's internal communications with a new Intranet, developed a home-grown wiki for Tektronix before "wikis" existed, and helped out Dr. Craig Venter and friends with bleeding-edge IT on their successful quest to map the human genome. He kept The New York Times' on-line commerce system running (mostly) and kept its executives happy when it wasn't. He rapidly and repeatedly built and deployed custom code for AT&T, bringing the first app store to the U.S. and revolutionizing the way people use mobile devices. Recently, his independent research and development in digital radio technology, next-generation smart grid infrastructure, and the Internet of Things has resulted in patent-pending technology which he has licensed out to smart grid industry leaders.While Mr. Hancock’s technical skill set in solution architecture, software engineering, e-commerce, digital payments, information security, wireless, utilities, and high-availability systems is deep and wide (and he is truly a geek in the purest sense of the word), he's also not a half-bad strategist, communicator, leader, and co-conspirator.
