As a former Army Special Forces veteran, I bring a unique perspective to the field of offensive cybersecurity, blending tactical precision with technical persistence. My journey began in the military, where I was trained to handle high-pressure situations and execute complex missions with efficiency and adaptability in austere environments without support. Those experiences laid the groundwork for my transition into the world of cybersecurity, where I’ve applied the same principles of strategic thinking, teamwork, and discipline to uncovering and mitigating digital threats.After my military service, I had the privilege of working under the tutelage of Dr. Jared DeMott at a boutique offensive cybersecurity consultancy. While there I learned how to search, find, and exploit bugs in web applications and networks. My role allowed me to learn from some of the brightest minds in the field while working side-by-side with them. In my most recent role, I led a red team as a contractor for the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), where my focus was on simulating advanced adversaries to test and improve the security posture of critical infrastructure. Leading a team in this capacity allowed me to combine my background in Special Forces with my deep understanding of cyber operations, enabling us to approach security challenges with creativity and resilience. It was immensely rewarding to know that our work helped to fortify some of the nation’s most vital systems against potential threats.Outside of work, I find balance and fulfillment in spending time with my family, running ultramarathons, and hunting. These pursuits not only keep me grounded but also challenge me physically and mentally in ways that complement my professional life. Whether it’s the discipline required for training, the focus needed for a successful hunt, or the joy of family time, these experiences continue to fuel my passion for excellence in all aspects of life.
