While Mr. Sachs was at Deerfield & Company, LLC, Deerfield was responsible for managing Deerfield Capital Corp (DFR:NYSE), a publicly traded specialty finance company that invests in different credit related asset classes, including corporate debt instruments (e.g. bank loans, mezzanine debt, etc.) and mortgage backed securities (e.g. RMBS, whole loans, etc.). Deerfield Capital Corp had gross assets in excess of $8 billion at the time Mr. Sachs sold his interest in Deerfield.

Triarc Companies, Inc. was a holding company and, through its subsidiaries, the franchisor of the Arby's restaurant system and the owner and operator of over 1,000 Arby's restaurants located in the United States. With approximately 3,500 restaurants primarily in the United States, Arby's is the largest restaurant chain specializing in roast beef sandwiches. Triarc Companies (NYSE:TRY) subsequently merged with Wendy’s (NYSE:WEN).

Deerfield Fund Services (DFS) provided Fund Administration services to fund management companies around the world. Bank of Butterfield acquired DFS in 2004 and renamed it Butterfield Fund Services (Bahamas), Limited. At the time of acquisition, DFS had approx $1.8 BB under Administration.
