Greg Jackson is a community organizer, campaign strategist, experienced advocate and communications professional in Washington D.C. Greg currently serves as the National Advocacy Director for the Community Justice Action Fund, committed to reducing gun violence by empowering those most impacted by violence to lead, organize, advocate and create solutions in our country. Prior to his work in local government, Greg served as National Field Director in 2016 at “For Our Future” Political Action charged with empowering millennial and minority voters to take action in 2016 general elections. While in this role, Greg was recognized as one of “2016’s Rising Stars” by Campaigns & Elections Magazine. Prior to his director role with “For Our Future”, his efforts focused improving the local Washington D.C. community after surviving a near fatal shooting as an innocent bystander in 2013. Upon his recovery, Greg has been avid mentor for youth in at risk areas and his local community organizing him to be the youngest appointee of Mayor Muriel Bowser in 2015 as her Director of Community Relations and Services where he developed proactive initiatives to improve the District.Greg began working in the political arena in 2008 supporting Barack Obama through various roles, including the Co-Chair of DC for Obama (2008), Field Director of North Carolina Coordinated Campaign (2010), Obama for America – North Carolina Field Director (2012), the Southern Regional & Gun Violence Issue Coordinator at Organizing for Action (2013) and lastly as the National Field Director at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (2014). When he’s not advocating for local issues, Greg enjoys mentoring youth, playing basketball, golf, flag football and long distance running where he has completed five half marathons since his recovery from gun violence in 2013.
