My role at Metova as an Android Developer included building and maintaining tested features, diagnosing and fixing defects, reviewing code for my teammates, training interns, and consulting clients on the latest standards and trends for Android software.My most relevant project was a full refactor of an existing music streaming application with ten million installs on the Play Store. We developed all features within an MVP architecture with unit and integration tests. We simultaneously supported close to 90% of the current Android API distribution for mobile and tablet devices while also incorporating some of the latest features from the Android SDK. My personal contributions included designing the architecture for and fully implementing the notifications and analytics features, and consulting with the product owner on the latest standards and trends for Android notifications.

Front-end course : Javascript, HTML, and CSS with jQuery and AngularJS. Back-end course : Node.js with ExpressProjects included CRUD apps, games, real time weather and stock tickers, twitter and facebook style mock ups, command line interfaces, a class website, and two capstone projects. My research was on the genetic basis of autism and epilepsy under the direction of Dr. Gregory Barnes. I studied the genes Neuropillin2 and Sema3F, both crucial in the migration and development of GABAergic interneurons. I performed PCR analysis on mouse tail segments using the MJ Peltier Thermal Cycler to test for the zygosity of the mice. I preformed immunohistochemistry on slices of mouse brain tissue using various primary and secondary antibodies such as Phospho 4E-BP1 and AlexaFluor CY5-conjugated AffiniPure Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG. I then observed slides of the tissues using the Olympus BX61 microscope and edited the images using Image-Pro Plus software. I then quantified the results according to the number of stained neurons and the number of brightly fluorescing neurons.
