I am a Partner in and Co-Chair of the Trusts and Estates Practice Group at Certilman Balin Adler & Hyman, LLP. I am involved in every aspect of estate planning, administration and litigation.I understand the complex legal, tax, business and personal issues that arise in estate planning, especially those involving closely-held businesses, professional practices and and families concerned for the future of relatives with special needs. I am regularly involved in the construction and implementation of estate plans, including the preparation of complex wills and trusts, irrevocable life insurance trusts, Medicaid qualifying trusts and grantor trusts and other entities designed to reduce estate values.My focus on estate litigation is a culmination of years of advising clients in matters related to the probate and administration of estates, small business transactions and real estate matters. I have litigated on behalf of my clients in the areas of contested wills and accountings, business valuation disputes, and guardianship matters. I have extensive experience handling actions for wrongful death and serious personal injuries.Mr. Pond earned his Bachelor of Arts in History from St. John’s University and graduated from the St. John’s University School of Law in 1983. He returned to his alma mater as an Adjunct Professor, and teaches an undergraduate course in business law. I am a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Nassau County Bar Association.I am admitted to practice in New York, the U.S. District Courts and the U. S. Supreme Court.
