Energy companies operating in California are subject to complex regulatory requirements. It can be difficult to discern what a given set of regulations require if you were not directly involved in their development. That’s where I come in. I’ve been practicing energy law for over 25 years, with a focus on California and the Western Interconnection. During that time, I’ve represented a wide variety of market participants - including developers, producers, marketers, wholesale and retail suppliers, and end-use customers - in numerous rulemaking proceedings affecting the electric power and natural gas industries. I've also paid my dues working on utility rate cases. My areas of expertise include regulatory advocacy (CPUC, CEC, CARB, and FERC), wholesale and retail supply arrangements, greenfield and brownfield project development, repowering projects, energy management services, regulatory compliance, and enforcement actions. I've also acted as local counsel in a numerous cross-border transactions.
