Emergency Management Intern
Supported the development, implementation, and delivery of emergency preparedness programming for the Carroll County Emergency Management Office. Provided broad-based support for programs that spanned all hazards and all phases of Emergency Management (EM) during normal and no-notice operations and situations.• Expanded experience with emergency preparedness/crisis/project management.• Supported multiple partners and stakeholders to accomplish set goals and objectives.• Prepared and delivered community presentations to a variety of audiences.Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, project management software, and web-based EM applications. Developed reports and documents using Word, entered and manipulated data in Excel, manipulated and analyzed data in Access, and developed and delivered presentations using PowerPoint.• Used diverse tools to facilitate emergency notifications, record keeping, and data collection and analysis.Researched and completed 3 separate EM projects with County-wide impact:• Developed comprehensive first-ever dam-breach tabletop EM exercise for Carroll County. • Created Carroll County’s first-ever Shelter Trailer Standard Operations Procedure Guide.• Revised the County Emergency Operations Center Standard Operations Guide.
