Managing security design and engineering of international security products, primarily Juniper SRX firewalls, for net-new datacenter builds in Europe and Asia. Primary firewall engineer on Ashburn, VA datacenter move, building a new extended DMZ from the ground up with Juniper SRX 3600's and 5400's. Work closely with Information Protection and Enterprise Network Engineering to make sure that all products work in harmony. Evaluated security products to make decisions on network refresh project and DMZ redesign.

Worked as a network security consultant for Cigna, a global health services organization. Designed and deployed new firewall infrastructure in net-new data centers in Hong Kong and United Kingdom. After 1 year, changed contract companies to ProUnlimited.

Moved from Senior to Lead Engineer under contract with Allied Wireless Communications Corporation, dba Alltel Wireless, a subsidiary of AT&T Mobility.Authored shutdown documentation for decommissioning of network. Shutdown included 50+ retail stores and admin locations across 7 states, 2 main datacenters and 2 smaller datacenters, 100+ individual circuits, and 200+ network devices. Acted as primary decision-maker concerning everything network and acted as liaison between new and old companies and service providers. Had to come up with a lot of creative solutions to problems we ran into including the lack of network documentation and finding circuits and hardware we never knew existed. Network shutdown now expected to end ahead of schedule.

Most senior engineer on a team of 4 for a small wireless telecommunications company based in Little Rock, AR that was recently purchased by AT&T. Day to day work involves managing Juniper EX switches (EX2200, 3200, 4200) and SRX (210, 240, and 650) firewalls connected to a large MPLS network as well as IPSEC tunnels between SRX devices for failover going over DSL and DOCSIS. I am the primary manager of our Juniper SA4500 and SA2500 SSL VPN devices. I also work with the client to make sure the network is PCI compliant, which includes patching Junos on network devices, updating certificates, closing holes, and anything else QualysGuard tells us that needs to be done. Work with vendors to provide support for SecureAuth, F5, and other products. Network management software includes WhatsUp! Gold, PRTG, McAfee Nitro (SIEM), Junos Space, and others.

Lead Network Engineer at RTS working primarily as the Juniper Consultant for a large multi-national client. Duties include being the liaison between the customer and vendor TAC handling troubleshooting, RMA, design and engineering. Work directly with the hardware vendors to provide the end client with suggestions to improve network up-time, performance and efficiency, as well as maintaining the equipment currently on site. I also provided the same services to RTS as their in-house engineer.

Did an 8 week contract for clothing retailer Express. The project I worked on consists of moving 1561 Express stores onto an entirely new network and infrastructure. Store network equipment consists of Cisco 2801 routers and 2960 PoE switches with 7965 series Cisco IP Phones. Head end equipment includes Cisco 7206 and Juniper J6350 routers and Cisco 6500 series and Nexus 7000 series switches. Scope of work includes troubleshooting MPLS circuits, BGP routing, 3G Wireless backup troubleshooting (DMVPN and NHRP), and advanced network engineering.

Did a short contract doing a firewall config cleanup project for Nationwide Insurance in Columbus, OH.

Worked as a contractor for the Minerals Management Service, Department of the Interior. I manage various Cisco equipment including, but not limited to, Catalyst 6509, 6513, 3550, 3560, 3750, 4550, 4750, and 2950’s. Routers are Cisco 3845, 2651 and others. Other devices include 7960G IP Phones, VG224s, Pix 515e's, 520s, 525s, along with Cisco IP Communicator, Unified Video Advantage and Call Manager 4. Network management software is SolarWinds Orion and Cirrus for configuration backup and management. Cisco Secure ACS for TACACS+ is in use as well. F5 Big IP boxes for load balancing, ForeScout CounterAct for NAC as well as Cisco IDS.

I continuously ran my own consulting company on the side since graduation from high school. I was the System Administrator for a network that includes 300+ XP computers, 15 Server 2003 machines, 11 Cisco routers,1 Cisco PIX box and a Barracuda Spam Appliance. Lots of experience working with Active Directory. Gained experience with Oracle 8 and 9i through the TLC Library specific database backend. Routers included Cisco 1005, 1720, 1724, 1841, 1812W, 2611, and 2821. Switches were Cisco Catalyst 1924, 2912, 2950, Netgear GSM7248, GS724TS, GS748TS, FS752TS, and FS726TS. Our PIX was a PIX515e and we had a PIX506 in our test rack. Cisco IOS Versions 11.2, 12.1, 12.3, 12.4 and PIX 6.2(2).

Handled all tech support and web design tasks for Houma Louisiana's first and largest internet service provider. Also worked closely with the technicians of Intelecomp Computer Systems, our sister company that provided hardware and software support.Helped support multiple RedHat Linux servers, Windows Server 2000 servers, Windows XP machines, as well as multiple USRobotics NetServer 16’s, Livingston Portmaster 2 and 3’s, Cisco MC3810 Access Concentrators, miscellaneous Bay Networks equipment, Cisco 4000 and 4500 series routers, and Barracuda Spam Appliances.
