I work alongside a team of highly accomplished colleagues at Aspen Leadership Group to help advancement professionals and their nonprofit, education, or research organizations achieve performance excellence for their career and organizational goals. Most recently I served as Vice President for Advancement at The Jackson Laboratory, one of the world's leading nonprofit genomic medical research institutes. In that role, I collaborated with executive team colleagues to lead JAX's fundraising, strategic communications, and trustee relations. Prior to JAX, I served as Vice Chancellor of University Advancement for the University of California, Irvine, leading all development and government and community relations programs, including the UCI Medical Center and Chao Comprehensive Cancer Center. With the help of amazing trustees, alumni, volunteers and university leadership, I helped secure UCI's then largest gift ever of $40 million for nursing. While Vice President of Development at Arizona State University Foundation, I oversaw all development teams for a then-planned $1.3B campaign. I also collaborated deeply on ASU’s rebranding initiative to be a "New American Univerisity", and also helped lead an innovative prospect management program. Both projects garnered national awards from the Council for Advancement & Support of Education (CASE).During my 12-year tenure at Creighton University, I was fortunate to hold several front line regional major gifts roles. As the inaugural director of principal gifts there, we secured a $50 million outright gift, the largest in Creighton’s history. In 2007, Creighton received the CASE Circle of Excellence Award as a national top 30 development program. Prior to Creighton, I was the library campaign director at Kansas State University. As an undergraduate at K-State, I got my start in fundraising as the student coordinator of the university's first annual giving phonathon and recruited its all-volunteer undergraduate student caller teams.
