Responsible for recovering over $50,000 in erroneous equipment back charges and preventing over $500,000 lost equipment charges in the first year of operation.• Drops: Web portal (.Net/MS-SQL) to automatically assign crew, generate locate numbers, track status, perform invoicing and report on fiber optic and cable drop bury jobs. Allowed for a four-fold increase in the volume of work done, while reducing administrative headcount by two. • Accounting Initiative--Web app (.Net/MS-SQL) used to tie fulfillment, drops and construction businesses into a centralized accounting/payroll package to track and pay employees, and report on, pay, and invoice clients and contractors. Recovered approximately $130,000 in unpaid business within 2 months of implementation.• OneDrop -- Nationally implemented end-to-end system written for Comcast (based on internally used Drops project mentioned above), utilizing handheld applications (via PhoneGap) and back-end data portals (.Net) for technicians to electronically order and schedule a cable bury job and track its progress. Emails customers, technicians and supervisors with job progress. Ties into Comcast back-end data to retrieve scheduled jobs, post jobs to Comcast's billing systems, and complete and cancel them within those systems.

• Responsible for maintaining and upgrading the Systemware's Testing Automation Portal, for building, creating, and executing hands-free software test plans. Moved the system from a straight post-back system to a dynamic AJAX and Web Services based model. Our largest test cases took up to 3 minutes for every post back on the old model, but was sped up to take between 3-10 seconds on the AJAX model--VB.NET, AJAX, SQL Server, WSDL, Web Services.

• Created "Mechanical Online", an intranet-based application which provided reports and data lookup from Dossier32 fleet management software, saving $70,000 in licensing fees across 35 divisions, using VB.Net and Microsoft SQL Server.• Ground-up rewrite of company's intranet system from a PHP/Perl system to one using Microsoft Sharepoint Services and VB.Net.• Implemented Active Directory groups for security access to Intranet areas. • Moved legacy database reporting systems from Access 2000 to SQL, with online access using VB.Net.• Wrote a VB.Net discrepancy reporting tool that pulled data from Active Directory nightly, using LDAP and VB.Net, to find servers and machines with improper groups, permissions, and roles in AD.• Wrote an ASP.Net application to allow for a one-stop user entry tool which added users to our Active Directory domain; Exchange mailboxes; our Billing Calculator, Customer Service, and iVantage Online appliations; and set up AD permissions and login scripts based upon the division and department that the user belongs to. Most user data is pulled from our HR software, iVantage, preventing double-entry mistakes, and allowing for faster and more accurate login creation.• Performed Data Analysis and “what if” scenarios for company-wide financials, to determine the billing impact of moving to a 10-hour day, changes to rounding rules (by the hour or by the job), etc. This involved marrying large amounts of data between two incompatible legacy systems, before analysis could be performed.• Wrote division-specifiic marquee-style data displays in ASP.Net and XML, for 54” training room monitors, so that the monitors could provide a useful service while not in use for training.I was responsible for the full life-cycle implementation of each project, from gathering information through documentation, implementation, and follow-up.

Ground up rewrite of the ASP Material Test Report software used to enter, view, and print the required material test reports for all valves the company produces. The original system was a single-user program that kept no MTR history. This was written as a enterprise-wide intranet application that would store generated MTRs for records retention and reprinting.Technologies used: ASP, Visual Interdev, VB Script, Java Script, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), XML, ADO & MS SQL Server, Transact SQL (T-SQL), Stored Procedures, Views, and creating and scheduling Data Transformation Services (DTS) packages.

Designed and authored custom software solutions. Worked on multiple in-house projects as well as commercial retail software for PennWell written in Visual Basic 6.0, including:• Chart2001—automatically merges, sums, and charts well production in multiple Access databases for QA analysis (VB 6.0)• Data Leech—automatic web-based well header and production data capture for the states of Wyoming and Colorado. Can grab approximately 80,000 aggregate well years of data in a single day. This job was previously performed by a team of data entry personnel (VB 6.0/Access/Oracle).• Automated EBCDIC-ASCII conversion routines—moved Texas Railroad Commission data in EBCDIC format to the ASCII format used by desktop PCs. Prior to this software, a consultant company was considered to perform conversions on a monthly basis.• Automated an AutoCad latitude/longitude generator (VB 6.0/Oracle/AutoCad). • Authored the PennPoint Data Viewer commercial software, which allows viewing, querying, and charting well data stored in the P3 Data model. Also has an extremely flexible exporting feature that allows the user to pivot and export data for a wide variety of formats such as SQL Server, Oracle, Excel, CSV, etc . Co-developed The Small Business Manager (a complete point-of-sale/inventory tracking package) in Visual Basic 3.0. Later upgraded to 4.0 (some modules written in C).Developed a windows-based modem client/server package in Visual Basic. Designed the base technology for this package, which was responsible for patents 5,727,154, and 5,987,505, and 6,256,665. These patents were sold to a Dallas firm named Cordell Labs, and I continued work on them in 2000 and 2001.

• Provided Wide Area Network hardware and software installation, troubleshooting and technical support for sixty-two markets globally, using T1, fiber optics, Novell 3.12 and Windows NT server and Macintosh Apple Share File Server.• Programmed (in VB 4.0) custom Internet software to retrieve, sort and format raw traffic data for national distribution of local market traffic data via the World Wide Web.• Established credit with computer hardware and software vendors. • Responsible for computer research and purchases company-wide of approximately $2.5 million per year worth of equipment.*Performed custom installation of software and computer systems for corporate employees, as well as tech support, help-desk, and computer repair (Apple Macintosh & PC/Windows)• Provided corporate email administration using Quickmail by CE software, and later using pop mail and Eudora Pro.
