I am an entrepreneur and mission-driven association leader who is passionate about building communities where people and organizations can change the world. As the CEO of ISHLT, I provide strategic and operational leadership for a global community of professionals dedicated to improving the care of patients with advanced heart and lung disease through transplantation, mechanical support, and innovative therapies. ISHLT is a destination community for members, stakeholders, and talented staff who share a common mission and vision. Prior to joining ISHLT, I built and sold an association management firm, serving in executive and business development roles with the original and combined organizations. I have served as chief staff executive for professional societies in health, science, technology and business, including founding executive director for the International Society for Stem Cell Research. I am a past chair of the Association Management Company Institute (AMCI). I live in Chicago with my son. On weekends, I can be found playing steel guitar in clubs and at festivals.
