Coordinate and teach Contractor Safety Orientation to all contractors entering the facility. Update outdated safety training material. Oversee the safety of all contractors in the refinery, 1200 – 4200 at peak turnaround activity.Team Leader of the Contractor (Red Hats) Safety Professional Team: • Conduct weekly update meetings with the Contractor Safety Professionals.• Organize contractor safety coverage throughout the yard. Update Red Hats on current jobs in the yard and verify safety coverage. Team Leader of the Contractor Project Manager Team:• Conduct monthly update meetings with the Contractor Project Managers in regards to upcoming jobs and what safety concerns our contractors have in the refinery. The refinery liaison between Chevron and our Contractor workforce.Lead Turnaround Safety Coordinator:• Conduct morning and evening tent safety meetings for 30 – 1000 turnaround contractors.• Conduct daily safety walks to instill the “Safety First” as a value in our culture.• Organize (Red Hat) Safety Professional Team as one unified team looking out for everyone on the job.• Manage “Daily” (Red Hat) Safety Professional Team meetings to track what possible hazards we are correcting and what can be done to prevent the next injury before it happens.• Manage and track safety audits and any trends that may be developing.• I implemented the 2 fails, 30 day lockout policy for CSO. Previously there was no policy and our contractors could continue to take the CSO test until they passed. I am constantly trying to raise the bar in regard to our contractor workforce, thus increasing our chance of having a more conscientious workforce and less incidents and injuries.

I suggested a new learning facility needed to be built to conduct CSO (Contractor Safety Orientation), we needed to improve our first impression of Chevron to our contractors as well as the efficiency in which they gain entry to the facility. I was appointed Project Manager of the COF (Contractor Orientation Facility). My team built the COF in time for the 2007 Turnaround Event, the biggest turnaround in Chevron’s 96 year history. We completed the facility on-time and ran thousands of contractors through a first class, one stop teaching, badging and parking permit facility, a task management didn’t think possible.• Conducted peer review / feasibility studies.• Presented management with PowerPoint Presentations on the options and costs of where and how exactly to build the new facility.• Interviewed all parties associated with the new building to ensure everyone was heard and the facility met all their needs.• Conducted weekly update / status report meetings with Chevron and Contractor Construction Representatives.• Reviewed manpower needed and costs and field verified both.• Negotiated with outside vendors all costs involved including whether to purchase or lease the trailers that would make up the facility.• Drafted scale floor plans of the building to ensure nothing was missed and everything fit according to plan.• Field verified entire construction of the project throughout completion.• Tracked project progress using Microsoft Projects.• Opened the facility on-time and under budget.

COGENERATION HEAD OPERATOR Chevron Manufacturing2/95 – 9/05 El Segundo, CACogeneration Plant:• Consists of (3) 40 MW Frame 6 GE Turbines and associated Heat Recovery Steam Generators with CO and SCR Catalysts. (1) 10 MW GE Steam Turbine and (1) 800 KW Steam Turbine.Direct a crew of 3 – 4 operators per shift and anywhere from 4 – 40 maintenance personnel depending on plant requirements. Oversee day to day Cogen and Water Treatment Operations and maintenance as well as all utilities throughout the entire refinery. (ie. Steam, Fuel Gas, Natural Gas, Utility Water, Potable Water and Electricity)COGENERATION OPERATOR Chevron Manufacturing4/89 – 2/95 El Segundo, CAOperated Cogen and The Water Treater. Conducted day to day rounds, pulled and tested samples to ensure uninterrupted and consistent operation. Operated the Cogen Plant both outside and from the control house as the console operator. Was considered “Subject Matter expert” on both jobs for training new personnel. Operated as the utility operator in charge of all utilities throughout the refinery as well as making several electrical switches in the yard. Switched breakers and switchgear from 110 – 66,000 volts.

Loaded LPG, ammonia and aviation fuel into trucks and railcars. Maintained circulation and inventory of LPG’s and ammonia. Sampled and tested all products to verify they met specs.

Operated refinery Water Treater. Brought raw water from Colorado and Feather rivers and converted it to soft water via sodium vessels, converted it to demineralized water through cations and anions. Treated waste water to correct pH before dumping to the outfall.

Operated four 850# steam boilers and one 150# steam boiler.
