About Gregory A. Neethling
Gregory has a background in Electrical Engineering and studied in Cape Town, South Africa as well as Copenhagen, Denmark.Gregory started his career in Denmark as a design engineer at Innova Air Tech Instruments (Lumasense Technologies A/S). He became a partner in Gassonic A/S, which was sold to General Monitors in 2008. He was part of a small team who pioneered the World's first Ultrasonic Gas Leak Detector (UGLD). As Technology Manager, he lead the R&D of the Gassonic UGLD. His designs include the patented "Acoustic Self Test", which is still used to this day in UGLDs. Gregory was key in setting up the production facility for the UGLD products, building of test rigs and conducting field testing of the prototypes.As Technology/Product Manager, Gregory contributed to the Global marketing campaign of the Gassonic Observer, which became a Global success and developed the field service procedure for UGLD, which included ultrasonic mapping, detector allocation, leak simulation testing and maintenance.With Gregory's 20 years of UGLD experience, he is one of the leading experts in all aspects of UGLD, as well as integrating this technology into Fixed Fire and Gas systems for an optimal diversity of technology.Currently Gregory is putting the experiences to use with Distran's Ultrasonic Imaging Gas Leak Detection.
