SecurityScorecard delivers solutions for third-party risk management, board reporting, and cyber insurance underwriting. We collect data from across the internet and process terabytes of data daily.---I have built a high functioning team of over 25 data scientists and data engineers. The data science team is responsible for all in-product data science functionality. Data services consists of four teams which manages data processing pipelines, digital asset attribution, scoring, and bulk data APIs.---In my current role I lead the development of our AI strategy, including development of our first two generative AI features. I also drove the development of the third version of our scoring algorithm, the company’s core IP, resulting in double the predictive power of cyber security breaches. In addition to the core scoring algorithm I also was involved with the development and delivery of the Risk and Ransomware analytics. Finally through a combination of efforts we saved over $1 million in compute and infrastructure costs on an annualized basis.As a leader it is important to have empathy for your customers, colleagues, and reports. I am often brought into sales conversations with customers to close deals and speak to the technical aspects of our product. I have found that one of my superpowers is my ability to work well with many different people - even those that might not get along with each other. I really care about hiring and developing talent. I treat my reports with respect and transparency and I have been consistently rewarded with high performance. I improved our capacity estimation and planning processes. The result has been built in time to reduce the frequency of incidence, increased in on time delivery of features, and less team burnout.

I started managing a team of Data Scientists and my responsibilities grew to include managing all of Data Science and Data Services, a total team size of 25 people.---During this time I helped develop and implemented a change control process for scoring updates that better informed our customers and sales force about algorithmic scoring changes and ensured high quality release.I also oversaw key technology improvements that stabilized our core data pipelines and enabled us to run at a larger data scale, lower cost, and lower latency. During this time period we created the bulk data API for customers who regularly require large quantities of data from SecurityScorecard. This replaced the custom data pull jobs. The net effect was to improve quality of delivered data, reduce cost, and free up engineering resources.Finally I doubled the size of the data science team and made several key hires in Data Services including hiring a management layer.
