My background in lasers, optics and photonics technology development and operations encompasses over 25 years within advanced industrial companies. Currently leading the team at Applied Energetics in Tucson, AZ as the CEO. Most recently, I served as the Chief Scientist for The Optical Society, Washington DC, leading their global efforts to serve the members of the OSA and to represent the Optics and Photonics community in academia, industry and government sectors. Previous leadership positions included serving as the CEO and Board member at B.E. Meyers & Co., Inc., a pioneering company in the development and manufacturing of opto-electronic technology and related products used in defense and law enforcement applications. I have served on nine Boards related to Optic & Photonics corporations, education, development, research, and not-for-profits, including current leadership positions as Director At Large on the Board of Directors for the Optical Society of America, as a member of the Board of Directors for Nanocerex, and on the Advisory Board for Open Photonics.My experiences as a CEO, Board member, and physicist have allowed me to lead cutting-edge corporations, and help advance the defense and industrial sector through innovative R&D to profitable, new product introductions, specifically involving new laser technologies for medical, military and commercial applications.
