Engineering Supervisor
CurrentDirect and monitor personnel involved in the analysis, design, and construction management of assigned projects. Ensure that designs include current engineering and construction technology, and that projects maximize operations efficiency, quality, flexibility, safety, scheduling, and reliability, while minimizing costs. Ensure that a plan is developed to best allow cost-effective, quality-conscious, and on-schedule completion of projects. Strategically distribute and maintain workloads for Area Team Engineers to meet refinery priorities, objectives and project commitments while remaining flexible to adjust priorities as needed by the refinery. Manage engineering contractors and hold them accountable for meeting budget and schedule commitments while maintaining quality. Communicate requirements and provide feedback on performance. Interpret procedures, standards, specifications, Basic and Best Practices. Review equipment specifications. Assess staffing requirements and participate in hiring process for Area Team Engineers. Coordinate refinery-wide studies. Train engineers in the areas of project management, engineering and construction design, project cost control, quality objectives, scheduling, and safety to allow for the efficient completion of project assignments. Develop a teamwork approach to providing services and create critical thinking leaders. Clearly communicate expectations to personnel; evaluate individual performance versus expectations to determine the areas of strength and weakness of personnel; provide regular feedback on performance throughout the year; conduct performance reviews and career discussions for Area Team Engineers. Support Interns/Co-op's through meaningful work assignments, feedback, and evaluations. Provide technical advice and resources as needed by engineers including piping systems, pressure vessels, rotating equipment, etc. Support the budgeting process by ensuring all projects are developed in time to meet budget deadlines.
