My first job in law school was as a certified student attorney for the Ramsey County Public Defenders Office. My primary role was to represent clients in court and on the record, and when needed, assist the attorneys in case preparation.- Courtroom Experience: Represented clients in disposition and probation violation hearings in juvenile, misdemeanor, and felony court.- Litigation Support: Prepared arguments that resulted in reduction of felony drug sales charges to misdemeanor possession, and dismissal of felony terroristic threats.

Initially hired for administrative support, many trips to the library and hours of self study allowed me to be promoted to the acting deputy to the Assistant Vice President of Contract Administration and Controls. In that role, I was the first draftsman for many billions of dollars of specialty contracts and in charge of implementing corporate wide contracts for the second largest hospital network in the nation.- Contract Drafting: Negotiated, drafted, implemented, and managed corporate wide specialty contracts, valued from $5.0 million to $2.1 billion, for the nation’s second largest hospital network. Clients included, for example, Office Max, Cardinal Health, Healthcare Waste Services (now Stericycle), GNYHA, and Sodexo.- Contract Management - Dietary Initiative: Implementation and management of the Dietary Initiative Contract, annual budget of $90 million, which overhauled inpatient corporate wide food services. - Contract Management - Healthcare Waste Initiative: Drafting and implementation of the Waste Services Contract, which transformed waste stream management at the twenty-one major hospital facilities.- Solicitation Management: Drafted RFPs and RFBs for various corporate wide contracts; reviewed, analyzed, and presented findings on hundreds of vendor solicitations.

I worked professionally for over a decade in the theatre, primarily as an actor, dancer, and a fight choreographer. Pursuit of this career brought me from Seattle to Florida to New Jersey to New York, and to a few places in between. My focus was primarily on Shakespeare, new works, and avant garde theatre, though I did a bit of film and television as well. - Actor: Performed in plays and films, from the fringe to Off-Broadway, indie film to network commercial, and sketch comedy to dramatic improv; apprentice actor with Acropolis Performance Lab of Seattle, Washington.- Fight & Stunt Choreography: Certified in broadsword, rapier/dagger, single sword, small sword, quarterstaff, and hand-to-hand combat through the Society of American Fight Directors; choreographed and/or performed fights and stunts for numerous plays and films, including Seattle Opera.- Dramaturg: Architect for "The Playground," a new play development workshop with State of Play Theatre, which used blind submissions to remove bias from play selection, and which developed plays for production Off Broadway.- Dance: Trained and performed in modern and jazz; trained, performed, taught, and competed in swing dancing (lindy hop); team member of the nationally placed Savoy Swing Club.

With only a degree in drama but interests in the corporate world, I trained myself and found ways to get on the job training in bookkeeping and basic operations and finance.
