Commissioning Suncor's Terra Nova FPSO in preparation for oil production off the Grand Banks of Newfoundland/Labrador in the Terra Nova gas and oil field.

Worked with EPC as an Operations Process Lead on Hanging-stone SAGD project through detailed engineering, construction, commissioning and start-up. Created protocols, standards and processes for the development of the project commissioning, start-up and operating procedures. Managed a team of subject matter experts to create accurate, sustainable procedures that allowed for a timely and safe start-up of the facility. Participated with the Ready for Operations team preparing for the turnover of equipment from construction at mechanical completion. Responsible for the design and development of a competency based Operations Training Program for the project. Developed the scope of work and met with training development companies before choosing the candidate to help with our program. I worked with the Human Resource department developing accurate position profiles and job descriptions to enable the design of a corporate wide competency and proficiency model. The model includes non-subjective measurement of competencies and proficiencies to help personnel identify their areas of excellence and guide them in actions to propel their careers. I participated in the selection of a Learning Management System (LMS) provider, to bring JACOS training identification, tracking and reporting to the level expected from a company operating in the oil and gas sector in Alberta. Worked with process engineering and plant personnel to develop strategies to de-bottleneck and overcome issues during plant start-up. Perform daily leadership quality audits of field hazard assessments, permitting, and workplace observations to raise the level of awareness and competency of the health and safety aspects of the operation

Develop and manage the Training and Competency processes for the Operations group at JACOS Hangingstone SAGD site. Align with HSE Manager to ensure safety critical, mandatory and optional training is identified and implemented for all disciplines at JACOS. Develop objective competency assessments to ensure all employees are measured to the same standards. The Training and Competency program will ensure compliance with all regulatory, technical, business and Leadership development requirements while increasing the proficiency of the operations through better understanding and knowledge transfer. Increasing competency will also enhance the employee experience and provide a better opportunity for employee progression.

Tasked with developing training systems and processes, to raise Husky Energy's supply chain functions to first-quartile performance, incorporating best practices for program sustainability and continual improvement. Work with an internationally renowned supply chain specialist to create the program that was delivered to all Husky Energy's supply chain functions, from the department leaders to the procurement specialists who made the purchases. The training program was delivered to business units throughout Canada and the US. Lead the team of training developers to produce and deliver the program across all Husky Energy's business units. Reported directly to Husky Energy's supply chain Director. Left Husky Energy to pursue an opportunity to lead an operations team at the start of a large construction project being developed in the Canadian Oil Sands.

I was involved in all phases of a new proprietary polyethylene technology project, including engineering, construction, commissioning, training and operational start-up. Accountable for commissioning Honeywell DCS systems for plant operation. Accountable for providing technical leadership (SME) throughout the project.
