Greg Surabian is an accomplished and versatile global real estate executive with unique experiences across the entire value chain including acquisitions, masterplanning, development, project structuring, financing, residential sales, branding, marketing, operations, and asset management. Over the course of his career, he has participated in over $40B in real estate investments, large-scale developments, portfolio and single asset acquisitions, capital markets transactions and corporate mergers and acquisitions. Greg has extensive experience in the agriculture, hospitality, multifamily and office sectors in North America and the Middle East.Most recently Greg was Executive Director of Investments for Red Sea Global (RSG), a vertically integrated real estate company established to development sustainable tourist destinations in Saudi Arabia as part of Vision 2030, including The Red Sea Project and AMAALA. At RSG, Greg was responsible for driving long-term strategic value by originating, structuring and executing the Company’s investment and financing strategy for several new international luxury tourism destinations. Prior to joining Red Sea Global in November 2018, Mr. Surabian was a Vice President at Anbang International in New York City and was responsible for originating and evaluating real estate equity and debt investment opportunities with a focus on the hospitality, multifamily and office sectors. He was also involved in the capital markets function at Strategic Hotels and Resorts and performed the asset management function for 717 Fifth Avenue, a Class A commercial office building in the Plaza district of Midtown Manhattan. He was also involved in the redevelopment of the iconic Waldorf Astoria in New York City.Prior to Anbang, Greg worked at Citigroup in their Real Estate and Lodging Investment Banking Group in New York City, as well as JMP Securities in San Francisco, where he was involved in ~USD 15B of mergers and acquisitions and corporate advisory assignments and capital markets transactions covering all property sectors.Greg spent his formative years on the family produce farm and packing house in Reedley, CA. His immediate and extended family have been farming in the California Central Valley for ~100 years.Greg received a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Southern California and received his CPA license while in the audit department of PricewaterhouseCoopers covering gaming and lodging.
