Greg Trotter is the director of editorial operations for Advantage Solutions, which provides sales and marketing solutions for brands and retailers across the U.S. Previously, he served as marketing and communications director for Nourishing Hope, formerly known as Lakeview Pantry, a Chicago nonprofit providing food, mental health counseling and other social services to anyone in need.Prior to that role, he worked as associate communications director for the Greater Chicago Food Depository, which is Chicago’s food bank.Trotter also worked as a Chicago Tribune reporter for more than five years, mostly as a business reporter covering the food and beverage industry. Before joining the business department, Trotter worked stints as a general assignment reporter in the Metro department and suburban reporter covering Chicago's North Shore. Earlier in his journalism career, he worked as a reporter for the Springfield News-Leader in Springfield, Mo., and for the Valley News in West Lebanon, N.H., winning awards for features and business reporting. Following the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, he traveled to Port-au-Prince to cover the immediate aftermath firsthand for the Valley News. He went back a year later to tell stories of the relentless hope amid the impossible task of rebuilding. Trotter also helped tell the powerful story of the AIDS Foundation of Chicago as the staff writer and communications manager. In what feels like a previous life, he led wilderness trips for at-risk and private school teenagers in Florida, California and Colorado. He guided them to find inner strength and compassion in adverse circumstances. He slept hundreds of nights under the stars.Greg lives in the Chicago suburbs with his wife, Kerry, and daughters, June and Tess.
