Responsible for Corporate Risk Strategy and Framework across all primary Risk areas including: Underwriting, Catastrophe, Market, Credit, and Operational.Led development and filing of the Company's Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) for both domestic (NAIC) and European (Solvency II) requirements.Led successful multi year effort in development of Company’s response to implementation of Solvency II requirements as a “Flagship Operating Entity” of FFIC’s parent, Allianz SE.Chair of the Risk Committee, member of the Underwriting and Reinsurance Committees, and standing invitee of the Finance Committee.

Managed all Capital Management activities including capital modeling (AM Best, S&P, Regulatory, and Internal Model), dividend recommendations, capital planning, and reinsurance framework.Ensured compliance with Company’s investment portfolio risk tolerance with detailed investment risk analyses and assessments of capital requirements for current and prospective asset classes.Led Catastrophe exposure planning process and development of related risk management tools.Developed Reinsurance technical pricing and capital effects as primary inputs to the management of the Company’s reinsurance strategy.

Responsibilities included:Development and management of pricing and operational predictive models.Redesign of comprehensive Commercial Lines underwriting and pricing platform incorporating robust predictive modeling, leading to improved underwriting results.Oversight of Business Unit price management and rate indication development.Actuarial “Best Practices” process ensuring quality and consistency within the actuarial community regards to methods, processes, and assumptions.

Responsibilities Included:Partnering with Underwriting, Marketing, and Field to develop and implement individual state strategies, including rating structures, catastrophe strategies, and competitive positioning.Nationwide product development including major redesigns in the Homeowners and Auto pricing platforms.Division’s Reinsurance and Catastrophe management strategic positioning.

Responsibilities Included:Financial planning and reporting along with development of primary financial and operational metrics.Establishment and ensuring adherence to, all rating and underwriting standards for the Division.Product management and development for Crop and Property & Casualty lines of business.Development and execution of the Division’s Reinsurance program.

Responsibilities included:Actuarial support for Workers Compensation, General Liability, Excess Liability, Auto, Property, and National AccountsReview and provide recommendations for new business opportunities including Multi peril Crop Insurance, Group Programs, National Accounts, Managed Care Partnerships, etc.Moving actuarial support from a “back office” function to an integrated partnership with the Underwriting functions. This included development of individual account pricing tools, introduction of Field Actuaries, and Field office training.
