I've spent many years tackling life from a spiritual perspective, ultimately coming back around to my life’s work of engineering a new software/hardware design language, a language called Spectrum. An all-encompassing language for digital systems was the problem that I set out to solve at U.C. Berkeley when entering the Ph.D. program in EE in 1986. The language would ultimately be a design representation that would support all types of designs at multiple levels of abstraction, with multiple implementation technologies: ASIC, FPGA, GPU, Embedded, HPC. It would encourage optimal design and synthesis and promote high-performance simulation. My current work as founder and CEO at Electronic Design Technologies, LLC, is to build an Integrated Design Environment for hardware/software systems that would rival Microsoft Visual Studio but would address hardware too, providing for hardware/software development---with the great experience that software developers have with Microsoft’s Visual Studio. Indeed, syntax-based editing and incremental compilation for a design with the ability to "hit F5" and only wait a few seconds before debugging and simulating the design!

Software DeveloperElectronic Design Technologies, Llc Jun 2014 - PresentOur product is Spectrum Design Studio, an Integrated Design Environment for the synthesis, verification, and realization of efficient digital systems from the language Spectrum.● Designed a new object-oriented computer language for Software & Hardware Development called Spectrum● The Spectrum language is capable of advanced computer software and hardware design with innovative features and capabilities that will provide a significant advantage in quality of implementation and time-to-market especially to computer hardware developers with higher-level abstractions not provided in existing hardware description languages● Designed and developed a compiler for Spectrum in C# that takes Spectrum source code and generates an internal design representation format that is used for the synthesis and verification of a computer system or component architecture, ~100K lines of C# code● In the process of developing a complete Integrated Design Environment (IDE) called Spectrum Design Studio to provide an all-in-one solution for software/hardware developers to synthesize and verify a software/hardware design given a Spectrum specification. Initial release of product will provide for hardware system or component development with Field-Programmable Gate-Arrays and ASIC implementation targets. -
President And CeoLittleflock Systems, Inc. Dec 2008 - Dec 2012● Founded a non-profit corporation developing software products for Catholic Church Offices● Productized a state-of-the-art church management software system running on the Windows platform, far-surpassed features and functionality of all existing product offerings from competitors● Wrote 115K lines of C# code for LittleFlock, using a ribbon-based user-interface similar to Word and Excel, and utilizing the Windows Presentation Foundation .NET offering from Microsoft● Utilized a MySQL-based database, which provided a powerful relational database and kept the product pricing down; provided sophisticated searching, selection, reporting with custom XML-syntax scripting language● Implemented AWS-based emailing features and cloud-based backup

Web Application DeveloperRevelpoint Mar 2012 - Jul 2012● C# Software Developer for Project Scheduling Web Application, targeting the construction industry● Contributed two major components to the application: Reporting and the Scheduling Algorithm● Developed and implemented an advanced reporting engine which compiles a custom reporting language, RevelScript, which is an XML-syntax based language. Report quality far exceeding that offered by the Oracle Primavera product was a huge selling point for our product● Used RevelScript to write about 15 different reports, parameterized with filter and sort selection● New reports could be added and tested without recompiling or reinstalling a new version of the system. Most report code was less than 100 lines and utilized RevelScript, an object-oriented language that offered most of the features of programming languages combined with concise and efficient data access● Developed and maintained constraint-based scheduling algorithm. I had only a short time to deliver the first version since the original developer failed to deliver and there was an important meeting with CalTrans that required working schedules for their construction project.
