All content originate from my lengthy, varied and successful sales experiences as well as learning from many wonderful men and women I’ve had the privilege to know. Also, early in my sales career I formed the habit educating myself through reading hundreds of books and repeatedly listening to audio offerings from great thinkers and sales people. A prime example was the American Motivational Speaker, Zig Ziglar. He defined selling as - “Finding out what people want and helping them to get it”. This became my mindset. Much of life's lessons involve the practical, doing stages. Equally important though, is the psychological side of selling. Understanding the implications of each is fundamental to being successful on the telephone. My Seminar is a healthy combination of each of these elements. (Let's Talk About Talking' - (The Timeless Path to Successful Selling) form the backdrop of my qualifications beginning with the most recent experience. Even though my subject doesn't strictly fit the genre of motivational speaking, my approach to consistently making cold-calls/sales-calls, is very motivational. People buy into the psychology, logic and simple structure I offer and are therefore keen to get on with applying what they learn. This is in keeping to my view that sales people are most effective when they are self motivated. Previously - 25 yrs. of successful Life, Health, Disability and Auto Insurance and Mutual Fund sales was my learning turf. I quickly came face to face with every challenge anyone faces when making new business development calls. I quickly understood the psychology of making new calls and of course I easily embraced and enjoyed the process.Other Experiences - Once, when my wife and I moved to beautiful Naples, Fla., where on a lark, we worked together in a call-centre from 5 pm to 9 pm for 6 months. This allowed us to continue celebrating our marriage by laying around on the wonderful beach and working only 4 hours in the evening. As normal, people came and left the call center in droves. Observing this compelled me to write a pamphlet called 'Telephone Friend or Foe' which later formed the basis of my Seminar.As an aside: I served 5 years on active military duty. Here I developed confidence in my ability to speak publicly. I survived of the Vietnam War as a Purple Heart recipient.
