Kaizen Civil Pty Ltd (Kaizen Civil) was established in 2017 by Greg Green. Greg Green previously worked as a joint director with GP Bluestone Pty Ltd but decided to leave this position in order to create a civil construction company that met his and his fellow managers aspirations. Kaizen is the Japanese word for the relentless pursuit of unattainable perfection and Kaizen Civil aspires to these lofty aims in not only the product it delivers, but also how the product is delivered. Kaizen Civil complete a range of civil projects including road and laneway reconstruction, car parks, footpaths, streetscapes, hard and soft landscaping, drainage and services installation. At Kaizen Civil I have developed the management systems certified to AS/NZS ISO 4801-2001, AS/NZS ISO 9001-2016 and AS/NZS ISO 14001-2016 to sustainably manage a client focused construction company, at the same time building and training a core group of management staff to implement the management system. Currently I am focused on growing the business organically to complete larger and more complex projects that allow myself and my team to fully utilise our experience and qualifications and also help even out our construction work load.

GP BLUESTONE is a civil construction company specialising in road and streetscape construction and reconstruction and proudly completes all it’s paving and stone masonary in house. As a business partner I built a 3rd tier construction company up from a 3rd tier construction business focusing on a single trade and projects to $50 k to a 2nd tier construction delivering projects over $1 m.

Working for 3rd tier construction companies I have sourced, tendered, won and delivered a total of $4.5 m of new work from new clients. In growing these businesses I have created and implemented business and marketing strategies, created and implemented management systems (critical for being considered on many tenders) and negotiated Enterprise Bargaining Agreements.

Managed external works at AUD $300 M Melbourne Markets Relocation Project. External works included full responsibility for business critical AUD $84 M civil contract (Guaranteed Maximum Price). Key member of contract team negotiating multi-million dollar contract dispute and insurance claim.

Managed North-Western Division of Civil Projects with turn over of $24 million annually. Significantly improved cash-flow and profitability of multi-million dollar projects that I inherited. Mentored and trained two site engineers up to the posiiton of junior project managers.

Managed project critical GBP £20 M fit-out package. The package included a on-site team of 150 personal which I managed through 12 managers. When I arrived the package was considered the critical path of the entire T5 project. Through re-organising both off-site and on site suppliers I was able to fast track works and finish the package 4 months ahead of schedule, leading all other suppliers in area hand-overs.In working on T5 I was also part of the project leadership team member. This team was responsible for leading the delivery of the entire GBP £4.2 B Heathrow T5 project and reported directly to the directors of BA and BAA.

Delivered GBP £2 M sewer / strom water retention system in South London. The retention system was created through tunnelling and pipe jacking large diameter pipe under an arterial road. The project was delivered ahead of time and budget.

Managed the second stage of a two stage tender for a GBP £26 M academy school in East London. Works included design development, rationalisation and tender preparation. The tender was successful.

Completed the remaining GBP £2.2 M works for the GBP £40 M East London Water Treatment Facility, which formed part of the GBP £5.2 B London to Paris Channel Tunnel Link Project. Headed commissioning team that proved the facility fit for purpose.

Managed company’s major road authority projects up to the value of AUD $14 M. These included a design and construct highway duplication with two bridges in Wantirna and the widening of the Moorooduc Highway through Frankston. I also transitioned a local government bridge construction tender won from traditional ‘Lump Sum’ to a ‘Design and Construct’ contract significantly increasing margin. I developed cost control measures that were adopted formally throughout the company and co-created the 'Engineer's Bible' a codified system for managing projects throughout the company that was centred on cost control. As nominated best practice Project Manager I was responsible for all external quality, environment and safety audits. At Akron I was also able to implement company and Victoria first construction techniques including fully automated surveying integrated with leveling equipment (graders) and ground staff which we used on the State Soccer Centre pitches and also the use of road profilers as excavation equipment on road widening projects (Moorooduc Highway).

Part of the engineer graduate program that included a significant amount of site management experience and a great deal of autonomy. During the program I managed civil and building projects up to $ 2m including Grant Street, Southbank reconstruction (part of Burnley Tunnell construction), Federation Square External Works, Federation Square Multistorey Car Park.
