As a senior member of the Ethical Buying team I managed a portfolio of key ingredients including cocoa, vanilla, shea, and non-timber forest products, with a mandate of transitioning these ingredients to more regenerative sources. Through a company funded investment program, I managed a suite of partner projects investing in supplier resiliency, capacity, and community impact.• Transitioned cocoa supply to exclusively Fairtrade and Organic sources.• Established a cocoa value chain with transparency on all costs from origin through to processing.• Co-designed and managed a project to promote vanilla production amongst smaller holders in northern Haiti, resulting in a larger project funded by USAID.• Established a direct trade relationship with an association of wild harvesters in the Brazilian Amazon.• Supported the capacity development of botanical growers in Appalachia.• Co-developed a set of foundational benchmarks for suppliers encompassing worker rights, regenerative and sustainable production, and ethical business practices. • Shared sourcing stories with internal audiences at companywide meetings. • Collaborated with the brand team to share sourcing stories with external audiences, and presented internally at companywide meetings.
