I am a New York-based filmmaker who directs, produces, shoots and edits documentaries. I am also experienced in producing content for social, promos, trailers and sizzle reels. Because I have an extensive background as a DJ, my passion for music and rhythmic sensibility informs my video production. Starting my career in television production in New York at MTV Networks On Air Promotion, I soon got the opportunity to produce DJ style music mixes for promos for VH1/NFL partnerships. In 2004, I became a fan of UK Grime music, an underground music scene from London. In 2006, I relocated to London where I began documenting the Grime scene on camera and over the next four years and created documentary shorts for MTV UK as a freelance producer/director. Since returning to New York, I’ve done a wide range of freelance work, producing, directing, shooting and editing documentary and promo content for Meta, Fuse.tv, Okayplayer and more. I’ve also had the privilege of contributing to “Freedom Summer @ 50”, documentary series for PBS about three different people and their experiences that summer in Mississippi 50 years ago. I also worked on the PBS web series called What I Hear When You Say, as co-producer, cameraman and on-set sound recordist. From 2016-2018, I worked as a Post Production Specialist at S&P Global Studios. From 2018-2019 I was a Senior Multimedia Producer for Okayplayer/OkayAfrica.In 2020, I started Sunset People, a production house that tells stories about music, art and culture. An ongoing Sunset People production I'm directing and producing is the fine art doc series James Cohan Features, which has been featured in Artforum. I've also produced a video campaign for the International Center of Photography exhibit Face to Face, which was featured in ARTnews. I am currently directing The Sound of Toys, a feature length documentary about Casio keyboards co-produced by Saboteur Media, Resurgent Pictures and Sunset People. In addition to these Sunset People projects, I have edited and produced video content for Meta's Employee Brand Department. And I've also edited and produced short documentaries for The Criterion Channel.Experience in:Videography Video Editing HD Video Equipment & DSLR VideoAdobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro & AbletonAudio Recording & EditingMusic Mixing, Production & Music Supervision Broadcast & Online Content Production
