I'm a passionate self-learner fascinated with how the world works. As a designer of both products and businesses I am driven to create these in such a way that brings meaning and value to society and the environment. I was born and raised in Silicon Valley where I grew up surrounded by academia, inspiring parents and mentors who helped me gain a deep understanding of science, mechanics, and the laws of nature. My mother was an executive at Stanford Hospital and my father was an executive scientist for 30 years at Lockheed Palo Alto Research Labs. I was part of several advanced placement programs in Los Altos and Palo Alto.In those years I also found balance in nature and spent my childhood backpacking, rock-climbing, skiing, and camping. At age 15 I started building snowboards in my family's garage in Los Altos. Years later, with the help of my business partner, I would turn that into an award-winning snowboard brand. It was this early entrepreneurial experience where I fell in love with product design & business. It was also this experience and love of being in nature that made me realize I would later be driven to build a career melding business with my passion for the environment.In 1989 I went to school at CSU Chico to do just this. I worked to create the first ever degree in environmental science and business. At the time these two worlds were considered contradictory and met with resistance. This is now a respected and sought-after degree around the world.After Chico I went on to build several companies, invent products, invent processes and mastered skills both in business and product manufacturing. With all my experiences however I strive to remain grounded; and it is my connection to our environment that helps me find balance in how we as a culture approach product design, commerce and of course civility.I am hard-wired to launch game-changing ideas that will, with all luck, leave our planet a better place for our children.Greg Pronko

Was one of the most coveted brands in the sport. During this time created several inventions/materials now adopted and commonly used by both the snowboard and ski industry. Was also the first person to create a modern day twin tip ski by combining snowboard shapes into a pair of twin tip skis. Twin tip skis are now the norm and these early designs are the basis of modern day twin tip skiing.Produced snowboards for other brands on an OEM basis. We also pressed and built skateboards on an OEM basis for Comet skateboards as well as other skateboard brands.The snowboard industry went thru a major consolidation in late 90s. At that time we made the decision to wind down the company to pursue more lucrative opportunities and generally to move on with my career. I continue to make snowboards to this day but as a hobby.
