Director at GeoLuminaPetroleum Geologist: Greg has been collecting rocks and fossils since he was a youngster. Now he has a degree, a PhD and more than 30 years experience in petroleum geoscience consultancy. His main interest is in the “helicopter view” of the industry, from exploration through to production. Greg currently undertakes geological consultancy from Play Fairway Analysis, to Pore System Analysis. He is also currently teaching professional technical courses worldwide in: Basin Analysis, Play Fairway Analysis, Sequence Stratigraphy, Prospect Evaluation, Clastic and Carbonate Reservoir Geology, Seismic Interpretation, Formation Evaluation, and Reservoir Modeling. More recently Greg has launched a new course on Critical Thinking in Geoscience.Educator and Knowledge Manager: In addition to delivering technical courses, Greg has taken his interest in integrated technical studies a step further and developed a workflow management system which helps to define processes, and link them together as a basis for maintaining best practice and personal skills development.Facilitator: Greg's wide-ranging G&G and subsurface engineering experience means Greg is well placed to facilitate the development of integrated work plans and oversee their implementation.Game Developer: After decades of gaming and feeling guilty about it, I have discovered Jane McGonigal and her book "Reality is Broken". This book has opened my mind to the potential of gaming in education and the workplace - I am now designing educational games!Environmental Scientist: Greg has also researched extensively on coastal processes (as part of the UK-based Land-Ocean-Interaction-Study; LOIS), including investigating the potential for carbon and nutrient storage in coastal depositional systems during sea-level rise.Musician: Greg enjoys playing for several local bands with his bagpipes and hurdy-gurdies, mainly traditional French folk music. The bagpipes also get used in training courses!
