Having studied and worked in HR for over 4 years, Greg Bates shifted his career into manufacturing to head up factories for Purity and Beacon where he was also able to build his M&A credentials with the confectionery and beverages integration. With deep expertise within the factory environment and an embedded belief around the power of people, Greg moved to Ethiopia to build Tiger Brands East Africa JV, initially as a COO and then as a Managing Executive.In 2015, Greg Bates joined Premier FMCG as the GM to head up the confectionery unit. Since 2015, Greg has continued to utilise his M&A and business optimisation expertise to expand into the pan-African market as well integrate beverage and Mister Sweet acquisitions. Greg Bates has an agile, responsive, yet process-driven approach to business leadership. He believes that mobilising and investing in people is the foundation for every business's success, and with a shared vision, the impossible, becomes possible.
